Atmadarshan (Laura Santoro) AYT-L2, E-RYT 500, CYT

Atmadarshan means "Vision of the true Self" Atmadarshan

Atmadarshan has long had an interest in teaching the movement arts as a profession. She has been an instructor in the Japanese martial art of Aikido since 2001 and is the author of the internationally published book Aikido for Kids. She was introduced to yoga when she saw the television program The Yoga Zone and tried some of the poses along with the instructors. It felt so wonderful that she decided to find an "in-the-flesh" instructor and tried a free demo class at the Atma Center. She was hooked.

Atmadarshan feels that teaching yoga at the Atma Center is the ideal job for her. She enjoys the quality of the people and the training at the Atma Center, and appreciates the opportunity to help people who want to improve themselves. She is dedicated to the art of teaching and practicing yoga, and loves coming to work.

In addition to her book on Aikido, Atmadarshan co-authored an article on response to medication in schizophrenics. She has worked on pediatric and neonatal intensive care units and psychiatric wards, and was assistant children's librarian at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library. She has produced and hosted a variety of radio shows for WRUW-FM Cleveland, including The Sound of Yoga.
