Anusara Yoga Workshop with Jamie Allison

Jamie Allison brings Anusara Yoga to the Atma Center, June 20-22

Please join Jamie Allison, senior certified Anusara Yoga Instructor, for this transformational weekend. Jamie is one of the most respected and inspired yoga instructors in North America. She speaks with the wisdom of her Senior Certification in Anusara Yoga and long-time study of Rajanaka Tantra. She has been studying closely with Anusara Yoga Founder, John Friend, since 1994 and Dr. Douglas Brooks, world renowned scholar of Rajanaka Tantra since 1998.

 

Friday, June 20: 9-11:30 AM   How to Observe and Enhance a Pose
This class is geared for teachers, aspiring teachers and serious students. Our focus will be on the systematic way to observe a pose.We will fine-tune our observation to allow us to assess the flows of energy in the body and effectively enhance the energy flows through the optimal application of alignment.

Friday, June 20: 2-4 PM & 5-7 PM   Education is Empowerment

This two-part class is designed to enhance the way we look at the human formand to empower, through the application of optimal alignment, the ways to address all commonmisalignments and injuries. This training is appropriate for anyone who chooses to take charge of his/her health and well being. All levels and injuries welcome!


Part I: 2-4 PM will examine injuries and concerns of the feet, knees, hips and low back.
$35 if paid by May 29; $45 if paid after May 29
Part II: 5-7 PM will examine injuries and concerns of themid and upper back, shoulders, neck, wrists and elbows.

Saturday, June 21: 9 AM -12 PM

We bring what we know to this full spectrum class and open to the possibility of bringing more fullness,more light to our practice and our lives.

Saturday, June 21: 2-4 PM

A quieting practice of hip openers, forward bends and twists. As we turn our awareness inside, we bathe in the light of the heart and see the wonder of ourselves reflected back to us.

Saturday, June 21: 4:30-5 PM Mahamrtyunjaya Mantra chanted 108 times.

This is a Shiva mantra for healing, and it is chanted in Satyananda Ashrams and centers around the world on Saturdays. All are welcome to this devotional practice. 

There is no charge for this half hour of chanting.

This call and response form of chanting will continue to open our hearts as we join our voices in this joyful, uplifting practice.

This is the height of our weekend together. This full spectrum class will take us to the edge and bathe us in the light of our potential as we offer with fullness of heart.

Learn how yoga can be used off the mat to cultivate a deeper connection with your inner nature and the garden of life around you.  Includes a healthy lunch.  Led by Atmarupa.

Anatomic Yoga™: 

A multimedia workshop with Bandha Yoga author Ray Long MD FRCSC

"See and understand the body in yoga like never before."

Dr. Long's incredible books combine superb computer-generated illustrations with clear writing to provide in-depth understanding of the anatomy of various yoga techniques.  He will be using cutting-edge technology to guide you to new wisdom and understanding about the amazing body and yoga!

Chanting

Saturdays, 4:30 - 5 p.m.  (free)

This healing mantra has been recited for thousands of years and is chanted 108 times every Saturday at SATYANANDA YOGA® ashrams and centers around the world.  All are welcome.  Come early if it's your first time to be introduced to the mantra, or if you'd like to write the name of someone who needs help or healing in the chant book.

Kirtan


Saturdays, 5 - 6 p.m. (donation basis)


Explore a form of bhakti yoga through call & response chanting of mantras with melody and rhythm. This heart-lifting practice requires no prior musical experience. Everyone is welcome.
