CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

A GUIDE TO THE YOGA ALLIANCE INDEPENDENT STUDY AND CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS THROUGH
ATMA CENTER AND SATYANANDA YOGA® TEACHER TRAINING

Good record-keeping and documentation is important for both aspiring and practicing teachers of yoga.  Atma Center provides Certificates of Completion for many of our workshops. A sample list of PAST Atma Center workshops and their credits are listed here. All workshop hours are commensurate with Yoga Alliance categories as noted in the chart. If you would like a certificate for any programs you attend, please speak with a staff member and fill out a certificate request form at the front desk before the program begins.

Currently Registered Teachers

Teachers currently registered with Yoga Alliance can submit a copy of the certificate of completion as documentation of Continuing Education credits. CE credits are periodically required to maintain a registration with Yoga Alliance.

Aspiring Yoga Teachers

Alternatively, these hours may be used for yoga teachers and aspiring yoga teachers who are working toward a 200 or 500 hour registration level with Yoga Alliance by independent study.

Accredited SATYANANDA YOGA® Teachers

Accredited SATYANANDA YOGA® teachers are required to provide documentation of ongoing continuing education in this tradition.  Most of our programs count toward such credits.

Notes

• Hours may be used as CE credits for teachers of any style or school of yoga.
• Hours may be used as documentation for the 200 Hour Independent Study in any style of yoga.
• Hours may be used as documentation for the 500 Hour Independent Study in any style of yoga. No more than three qualified yoga schools (or two schools and one 200-hour equivalency) may be included in the 500-hour documentation. Atma Center maintains a qualified 500-hour registry standard with Yoga Alliance for Teacher Training. Hours that may be grouped under this one school name are indicated in the chart.
• No independent documentation is required for students who complete the Teacher Training which consists of: Yogic Studies 1A, Yogic Studies 1B, Yogic Studies 1C and Teacher Training 1. More details are available here.
