The following testimonial was submitted by one of our long-distance students, Shambhavi:
Some of you may have heard of me. I’m “Shambhavi from Baltimore”. At least that is how I have been introduced in some of the classes I have attended at Atma Center. Having a difficult time picturing me? Well, that is because you have probably never actually SEEN me, but I have been in class. I have been one of the small screen shots on the computer at the front of Atmadarshan’s Managing the Mind class. I am also a student in the Yoga Academy of America Teacher Training 1 course. I am one of the students many of you have been graciously “posing” for on video (if you sit in the front row of Swami Atmarupa’s Foundation A class). I am a “distance” learner who is working on staying present!
I am so grateful that Atma Center offers the option of live Skype and videotaped classes, since it would take me roughly 6 hours to drive in for an actual class. There are no Satyananda Yoga classes in Baltimore, so being able to attend class via the Internet is such a blessing. I am able to take classes in the comfort of my home, often at the time of my choosing. I receive quality teaching and feedback directly from a Skype session. There have been times that I have had other commitments during a scheduled class time and having the video has allowed me to continue a session without missing the valuable information offered in each class. The videos also allow me to hone my teaching skills by viewing classes offered by senior instructors. I am not sure how I would be able to complete my teacher training without this valuable tool.
I commend Atma Center for their forward thinking and use of technology to spread the teachings of Satyananda Yoga. Not only does Atma Center offer yoga forEVERY body, now they are able to offer it EVERYwhere!
Hari Om Tat Sat!
